Fine if they're light in color I guess.

Whoa, whoa, whoa. Who says "no" to suede loafers in the summer?

I say "no" to loafers. Period. Don't like em, suede or otherwise. They can't decide whether they're dress or casual, which leaves them in a mushy middle ground IMO. Besides I just don't like them aesthetically.

Much love for them here, not from me.

I wear my penny loafers more than any other shoe. But then, I'm not often in suits.

Don't like suede loafers, though. Seems like a redundancy. I'll take them in tan or reddish brown, thank you much.

Suede is a weird creature. In theory it is not meant for summer, but it also is the fabric most vulnerable to the elements and would seem to work better when there is not snow, sleet and ice around. Never understood that one myself, but so it is. Of course, traditionally one would wear flannel in the summer (though I do not know who these great men in generations past who did not sweat were).

I am happy to be a cad who wears (blue) suede loafers in the summer, and suede monks too for that matter. Even suede oxford brogues sometimes - e.g. casually in the evening with jeans or chinos.

If you were to stare for a moment from the top window of your highest ivory tower, and try to comprehend the magnitude of the sky itself, you would be some way toward picturing the scale of the **** that I giveth not. :)

Auberon Waugh on suede shoes- 'Only a **** would wear them'.

As for me, big s**t (sorry, suede lover) here.

I'm no shoe guy, admittedly. I'd never heard of the aversion to suede. Or suede in the summer for that matter (that's just plain silly IMHO).

I actually thought at one point that suede is more of a spring/summer material for shoes, apparently I got it the other way around.

I have a pair of CJ suede monks (had a photo earlier) and it is amazing.

Yay, our on-line store went live yesterday evening! Since I'm no AV (yet) I'm not doing this as some kind of marketing post, it's more of a general happy announcement.
