You pussyfoot more than Radials. Order a grenadine from Hober, ask for the thinnest lining he has. You'll be set.

This is why I like thinner construction grenadines like Cappelli (supposedly, still have to see)

My favorite grenadine is a vintage Paul Stuart that has minimal construction. Smaller knot

It is a FIH. My apologies for the awful knot. Never thought of my knots as huge...at all. YMMV.

Yes, I believe they are FIH knots. I must disagree with your opinion that they look "huge" and "awful". I'd consider them medium sized and think they look great--my Hober grenadines tie very similar looking FIH knots. Regardless, the Hober folks can accommodate requests for a smaller knot by making the blade thinner in the knot area, or using a thinner interlining or fewer folds.

My only grenadine is from Shibumi.  It is magical.

But the other options are cheaper.  There will be kopping.

jrd,

Order a grenadine from Hober, ask for the thinnest lining possible. If you aren't happy, I'll buy it off of you.

I doubt I'm the only person who would extend that offer with such confidence.

@tdude
@pinkpanther

Probably a few others. There is a good reason why Hober fans border on rabid.

Jrd please just order them Sam Hober grenadine ties and see how you like them.

If I ever win a FC, then I will change my name. RADIAL POODLE'S NOODLES.

Just change it, Noodles.

In the mean time, it's time for you to get this thread back on track instead of allowing it to degenerate into a general tie discussion.  You have ties now.

So, folks, on behalf of Noodles: recommendations on availability of quality suits in the DC area for under or around the $1000 mark?  MTM would be a bonus.  Mail order is not for now.  Somewhere he can go try stuff on.

a) I like the idea that if Rudals wins a FC, we get to pick a name for him to change to.

b) How long will you be in SoKo in May? If it is as long as last time (a little over a month?), you should come with me to B&Tailor.
