For example, I think the rust would go well with most of these except perhaps the first, but that depends on how much contrast there is between tie and jacket (I am assuming you have each cloth made up in whatever format you wish, suit or jacket). It might go less well with the Donegal, but I'd have to see the swatch to be sure. It would pick up the overcheck nicely, I suspect, in the houndstooth and provide a good contrast/complement to the navy and steel blue.

But then again, rust is the new black (for me at least)! I'd like to find a rust raw silk tie.

I honestly wouldn't know what to do with the jackets if I had them.

General principle that I would use is not to buy any of the jackets except maybe the steel blue and the navy windowpane. However, if I had all of the jackets, I would generally try to wear a solid tie, preferably in burgundy or something, as the jackets have patterns to them.

I wonder if I can iron it into one...biggrin.gif

I think it depends the fabric. I think they can be ironed into 3-2 or whatever you call it. But I have a very lightweight fabric that was a hard 3 that turned into a 3-2 without anything being done to them.

It will always fight to be a hard three but JR if you didn't spend a lot on it then have a tailor try it.

noodles have u conceded to sportcoats now?

I can't wear one at work. I am rebuilding my suit collection. I is waiting for my Formosa from the tailor. I is also waiting for NMWA to restock their Formosa suits. I will get by with my 38R Zegna suits since I decided (forced to) not to sell them. Just the RLBLs are going.

^ I have that tie, more or less.  I like it enough to keep it, but wouldn't buy it again.

I'd wear it. But I have 100+ ties. So I don't mind buying something I'd wear once or twice a year. Where is it from? I love the subtle slubs.

NVM. 200+ dorra? No thank you.
