PSA: If you need ties, there are some serviceable neats and stripes on sale at Barney's Warehouse for $12.

Thanks to RTC for pointing me in their direction with his query about shoes.  Haven't worn Barney's shoes before, but at those prices, give it a shot, dude!

I'm thinking about it and yeah, I was going for the sale. There are some neat things on there, but sizing is always an issue... especially with no returns.

Striped grenadine and black captoes:

I think the hidden buttondown is too inform for a navy pinstripe suit and tie, even the knit. If you want to wear the shirt with the suit, do like Nick and skip the tie. And in the latter case, the loafers would work fine. Otherwise, captoes all the way with that suit.

LOL

You meet a lot of interesting people when you try to sell something on the market.:rimshot:

Anyone know what this white thing is? It is coming out from inside the jacket on my RLBL suit.

A tailor (horrible one) once told me it is just whatever that they used for canvassing that is just seeping thru.

It is indeed just canvassing. If you pull apart the front and back of the jacket fabric in that area, it should slip back inside the jacket and should look like nothing ever happened.

That's the point though.  If you happen to have a huge bonce like Noodles (or Claghorn, or mimo), then that line that your eyes try to make, makes the shoulders appear proportionally wider - and the head more human.  A slightly wider lapel and a non-skinny tie are also better, for the same reason of proportion.

But I don't like self stripes either.

Thanks mimo! Hard to see that without the noggin' there though!

Does anyone know where to source a gift box for a framed photo approximately 12.25''x16.25''?

Totally non-style/clothing related, I know, but any tips would be greatly appreciated.

For those of you who are interested in the SS MTM program. I convinced my coworkers to go to SS and this one particular person chose to do MTM just because nothing off the rack ever fit him and he had to do a lot of alterations. So this one took 1.5 months to get from the factory, then he went in for a fitting and walked out with the suit in 2 months. This particular one cost him $1,200~. Done at SS at Georgetown, DC. I tried to capture some of the details.

Did your wife choose his lapels?

oh-no-you-didnt-12.jpg

Well no, but considering he's only 5'5" and slim, they were an appropriate lapel size.

I just don't understand why she doesn't like wide lapels! I luv how they make my fathead appear smaller and looks bad@ss too.
