Good Natured Advice Thread (improving a business wardrobe) - Page 567

The HYs and Pantas are both great options.  It is about finding the brand that fits you best. HY used to fit me best until they changed their fits.  Panta is does not do vanity sizing, so beware when ordering.  I am usually a 34, but can't fit into theirs.

You can also try Epaulet and go for the light gray hopsack...just ignore the horrible model picture.

These would be the ones to start with from Epaulet.

no code.  good sales and good price to start for the pants you get. know up front that the guy who runs HY, Jamison, is very poor at responding to emails.  you can read a couple pages in the thread and get a sense for what you should expect.

I am thinking about ordering this charcoal grey...

As so often, this thread leaves me with a severe sense of deja vu... From last week:

I have a similar pair but without the belt loops. Awesome stuff.

Yup--these were the ones I was trying to link to earlier; copied the link for their darker hopsack by mistake.

Noodles, I have at least 3 pairs from Epaulet and HY and they both make great trousers. If you go with HY, hope for a good fit and pray that if they don't, he accepts the return and you get your money back. I've never bad problems, but I got lucky with fit on the first try. His customer service is non-existent and he has quite a few people pretty pissed off. You will get much better service from Epaulet, but HY has a pretty large selection and they are on sale fairly regularly.

Too many people trying to help Noodles. You guys are creating a sartorial beast! biggrin.gif

Can't wait to see the end result though with Formosa suit (wide lapels and extended shoulder), Medium Spread shirt with Tall collar, 2 inch cuff pants and the conquered (tie, pochette, shoes and belt). icon_gu_b_slayer[1].gif

True true.
IF...the Formosa suit works out then we need to find another project user cus suits seem like the last piece of the puzzle. Am I wrong?

your journey is just beginning. smile.gif

also, while HY does not return emails in a particularly timely manner, the orders are fulfilled and shipped in a timely manner.

...and if for some reason you didn't like the fit and don't want to play Return Roulette, you'd be able to sell HY trousers in staple grey in about 10 seconds.

I hope that I have gotten down the basics down. This thread accelerated my development. I believe I do need to be more observant instead asking so many questions. I hope this is the end of my n00b journey. If the Formosa suits work well on me then I will file for a divorce with Zegna.

Lawlz. Unless your name is Vox there is no such thing as sartorial nirvana.

The rabbit hole just keeps getting deeper...
