How about a meermin snuff string loafer:

What kind of briefcases do you guys have? I just bought this slim La Portegna case. I don't carry much stuff around, so a big bulky briefcase seemed a bit unwieldy.

I can tell you what kind of briefcase I wish I had... this one

I was actually looking at meermin's offerings earlier after reading

@A.J.V 's http://dresslikea.com/post/88661228033/3x-suede-loafers-for-summer

But wouldn't two snuff string loafers be sub-optimal given the minimal difference in profile?

I'm a fan of string/tassel loafers, so I would have no problem owning different kinds of suede and leather versions. The difference in formality between a suede string/tassel/penny loafer is minimal, so it really comes down to what version you like best. If you want something completely different a burgundy shell penny/tassel loafer might be nice, but also much more pricey.

I love the Carmina snuff suede string loafers, but a close second is a snuff suede tassel loafer.  Love the way both look in the Summer, but the tassell loafer is easier to dress up.

If you are looking at penny loafers, why not try a brown shell loafer.  I've got the AE Patriot in brown shell and I wear it frequently with chinos and jeans in the Summer.  Also check out the Ralph Lauren (C&J made) brown shell Marlow loafers, which are $365 or so in B&S, while supplies last.

Speaking of Carmina snuff suede, these came in:

Now, just waiting on the matching belt, which has been sitting at a FedEx terminal in Paris since Saturday.

Thanks for the feedback guys. I currently have the Carmina string in snuff, Alden LHS in color 8 shell, vintage Nettleton in black cherry? shell, and a beater pair of Burgundy AE Waldens.

Thanks for the heads up on the Marlows, @New Shoes1 . Moments away from kopping. To that end, does anyone know what @eddievddr10 means by "these are all sized as marked on shoe?" Are these UK or US sizes?

I seem to recall there is some debate about whether Ralph Lauren lists the U.S. sizes as 1/2 or 1 full down from the UK size.  As a result, sizing discussions in the RL C&J thread focus on whether to go true to size or 1/2 size down from your normal U.S. size.  I seem to recall penny loafer is one of the TTS shoes, but it's worth a few minutes confirming this in that thread.

Yea, I've been searching through that thread. Most say TTS for the penny, 1/2 down for the tassel. But my confusion comes from posts like these:

So I'm waiting for eddie to confirm whether he has the US or the UK sizes listed in his post

Looking at a few ties at NMWA. The green linen one I have a particular pairing in mind for. I've been impressed lately with a number of quality fits utilizing brown grenadine and thought this would be a good addition. Not sure if either of these fit what I'm looking for: the drakes color looks a bit flat (Hober lists some rich looking browns, though out of stock), and the Bigi may be too light weight and finely woven (would prefer grossa). Thinking green ties lately, and also thought a green grenadine might be a nice addition.

Trying to stay away from soporific CBD, while still remaining within the boundaries of good taste and versatility. Thoughts?

I dislike the top one. It puts me in mind of falling confetti. The other four are nice, particularly 2. The last is nice as well, but I try and steer away from neats that dense. Personal taste, though.
