I'd like the shoe in the second picture with jeans more if it was a boot, but the scotch grain helps make it more casual.

When I'm in jeans, it's typically on the weekend, so usually chukka boots or shell loafers.  Occasionally, a pair of color #8 sheIl  longwings that are significantly more clunky in appearance (less sleek) than the Carminas if I'm wearing a sport coat with jeans.  I'm looking to add a dark brown scotch grain wingtip boot in the Fall to wear with jeans as well.  I've also got a pair of snuff suede balmorals on the Forest last coming soon and will need to see how they look to determine if I will wear them with jeans.

If I were in jeans more, my wish list would include:  dark brown or snuff suede chukka's; shell boots in color #8 or dark brown; and suede loafers.

ALL MY 38R ZEGNA SUITS ARE ON SALE. PM ME.

Since we're on the subject of shoes, when are swades shoes appropriate?

With odd trousers. I know I may be in the minority here, but they seem out of place with a suit. Unless it's a very casual suit.

I think dark brown suede looks great with even CBD suits. Snuff or tobacco is more of a casual color to me.

BUT swades are appropriate for cold weather?

Also this odd jacket from boglioli that I got seems both too big in the chest and too narrow in the shoulders :/ not sure it it'd worth trying to have altered, but I love it so it's hard to decide. Warning: Spoiler! (Click to show)

For reference, I'm a 42r shoulder but a 40r everywhere else with a 34in waist. Boglioli pic is also useless for fit, I will try and post another in this afternoon.

For fit advice, really need a whole body shot with your arms down on the sides, i.e. you'll need to take a pic from a camera on auto, aimed at navel height straight on. You could do front, side and back. But hard to see from these pics. In the first, you could suppress the waist a bit; the second, sleeves are obviously too long. More than that is guessing.

All weather and very easy to maintain.  Just vary the color of the suede depending on the time of year.

sure, but I wouldn't wear them in sleet or snow or torrential downpour. If they get wet, just brush them and let them naturally dry.

Originally, suede shoes were only meant to be worn during the colder months. For example, Manton is vehemently against suede shoes in summer. I wouldn't wear them in snow though, but everything else is fine, as they're surprisingly easy to clean. They're not really appropriate for your CBD wardrobe, Rudals, but a pair of suede loafers would be nice for casual wear.

Thanks @europrep and @New Shoes1

I have to admit that I'm a sucker for a sleeker line in shoes, which works against the more casual vibe. For example, I'm sorry I missed these loafers in my size (Carminas):

Here's another (C&J)

Too elongated? I mean, shouldn't matter to much. They're loafers for loafing.

I remember that. Is it a tradition thing, and from whence the tradition? Otherwise, I don't quite get it, but I'm definitely n00b relative to Manton.

Since I'm thinking about loafers, snuff suede loafers any less summery than calf-skin or shell loafers? I'm not seeing it.

I do not think...that my suits will stay CBD after this overhaul. I'll go real slow but I may just end up having one CBD suit.

Suede is very textured and was worn in winter with flannel, while white bucks were worn in summer. I wear my suede shoes year round, but it's always nice to know the tradition.

I thought you wanted formosas? Those are largely CBD.

okay...one or two.

The navy plaid is a CBD? PoW is a CBD?

When I think of CBD, I think of solid dark grey or navy suits.

Plenty of casual suits in Greg's Formosa lineup. I agree with you...suede year round for me.

....I HATE loafers! I know, I'm the minority here.
