Good Natured Advice Thread (improving a business wardrobe) - Page 432

I don't think the shoulder difference will matter at all, especially since these shoulders aren't completely unpadded. This is based on my experience putting different sizes on the mannequin. But you'll see for yourself when you try one size up.

I hope all you 40Rs got your preorders in for fall.

^Aha! @TM79
And the way stitchy seems to be losing weight, another one will join the party soon. Darn...
(Which is exactly why I pre-ordered my f/w Minnis) tongue.gif

fine fine fine~~~

I shall exchange for the 40R (sorry Greg!)

Thanks @unbelragazzo for all your feedbacks.

I think the length of the suit (short on me) should be the clearest reason.

Here's my 48 vs 50 Formosa comparison fits if it's helpful and for those that didn't see it in the NMWA thread.

Hold on to the 38R until you receive the 40R. You want to compare.

If it were just the length, I'd say keep it and just lengthen it - it's not a difficult operation and IIRC these suits are made with extra material there to allow for some lengthening. Also the buttoning point is fairly low so there's not much risk of throwing the balance off. But I think the other areas argue for a 40 as well.

So weird: I like the shoulder better in the 48R, the chest in the 50R but the waist seems more suppressed in the latter!

wait...which one is which? Judging by the sleeve length, 48 top and 50 bottom.

The 48R (top?) fits much better and it just "falls" whereas the bottom one doesn't.

This is helpful but I am in a reverse situation:violin:

Almost ordered it if not for the sucky gogo wifi on delta.

@jungleroller just Google mafoofan and rubinacci. Lol

Yeah, I'll be pre-ordering to avoid trying to beat the crowd later on (and also to avoid paying 100% all at once).

I wish they were perfect, but I would be lying if I said they were. I have an extremely tough upper body to fit....never have issues with trousers. I've even had MTM companies throw in the towel and tell me that's as good as it's gonna get. I stressed about small imperfections for a while and then came to the conclusion that if I am going to wear RTW, there will be minor fit issues that either can't be fixed or aren't worth it. I think there is a "close to perfection" RTW maker out there for everyone....it just might take a lot of $ and time to find them. It took me a good 3 years. Thank God I don't have to waste anymore money being slightly satisfied with decent fitting suits.

You're so lucky!!! @Murlsquirl

Glad you have found the ONE.

I hope 40R is the ONE for me.

PS

How tall are you by the way?

But seriously, if your only hesitation is you feel guilty about taking advantage of their return policy, then you really should order one to try on at home.

this.

also, i want that gun check so bad but even i cant justify it right now. im scrambling but have not come up with anything yet. frown.gif
