THanks both...actually will be in Berlin and am thinking about stopping by Shibumi. Still, ties will I think run about $100 after VAT is removed, and that's in Vanda territory...still the burgundy/navy block stripe and the brown shantung striped (or just the solid brown shantung) look very tempting.

yeah, at the shubumi price point, there is very stiff competition. panta, vanda, fully tricked out hober.... it really boils down to tie design at that point for me, as the quality is great with all, and id put panta, vanda and hober above shibumi.

wu is also a great maker, excellent ties, and at an unreal price.

I've been meaning to try out a Conrad, but it looks like the knots his ties tie are somewhat thick? I like thinner knots
