Good Natured Advice Thread (improving a business wardrobe) - Page 316

For the longest time, actually ever since coming on board SF, I have been having trouble finding a tie that would go with this effing b@stard suit. Can someone, for the love of Godiva, suggest some ties that will go with this?

I am thinking something like...a dark dark brown or a dark navy blue.

Just so you know these are sort of the 4 standard measurements when trying to sell jackets. It is also typical to list how much material there is to let out in the sleeves and if the jacket has working cuffs.

For pants:

Waist:
Inseam:

Again list how much material there is to let out underneath the hem. Also list if there is a cuff or not.

Finally, good luck. I've had my NWOT SS suits up for about two weeks and selling them at a loss with no bites.

Link to SuSu suits?

Don't you have a dark brown neat from NMWA? That would work, I'd think.

Sorry, can't see sigs on my phone. Too bad they're 38, I wear a 40. $350 is a serious steal though, I have no idea why they don't sell. It goes to show how seriously flawed the current B&S system is. I'm sure you'll sell them in no time on ebay.

Does anyone have any experience with Sartoria Partenopea? There are some cheap ones on ebay and I'm looking for slightly longer jackets, lower buttoning points and wider pants than Suitsupply. I'm afraid the trousers might be too slim because it's an Italian brand.

I do not know which one you are talking about. I hope I have a brown one.

I changed my mind on that particular suit. Ah, sorry about forgetting to respond to your PM. I am somewhat of a brand name snob so I wouldn't buy a regular polo or RL Blue Label. :nest:

@jrd617 has a SP jacket for sale currently. Obviously not a suit but he may be able to speak to the quality. I'm thinking @timotune has a charcoal suit from them but can't find it on my phone, so he could possibly attest to the trousers cut.

It's Corneliani for Polo made in Eyetaly! It's like Suit Supply (half canvas) with better fabrics. And high armholes like RLBL: http://www.styleforum.net/t/94886/ralph-lauren-lines-and-who-makes-what-a-definitive-guide/0_50

The dimensions are dead-on for you too. I wear a lot of Corneliani, Corneliani for Polo, and Zegna Milano. They fit very similarly.

But I digress...

Just ask the seller for leg opening measurements. You really can't question the quality of the brand. I have a fanastic jacket from them.

@Rudals, you can't go wrong with Corneliani made polo blue label.

I don't know if you have noticed but I haven't been able to post a fit lately because I am effing 15 lbs overweight and am on the "Noodles Get Healthier and Lose that Fat Challenge."

None of the suits fit me as of right now. Yes, even the darn suit that I need to pick up from Field Tailoring will fit em. I cannot eat like my wife who eats cookies, cakes, chips, pizza, etc and yet has a flat belly. :censored:
