@Monkeyface

Yes, we were talking about grey suits. So she sent me bunch of pix that she liked. Surprised this was not included.

You guys do know I just have one navy blue tie, right?

I had a meltdown and returned all the stuff I bought from Neiman Marcus.

Nick Wooster a tool, good one. I thought he was the equivalent to sprezz what butter is to slized bread. Judging by the Pitti diaries. biggrin.gif

Noodles, your lady has pretty good taste IMHO. Last 2 could possibly work for the SWD crowd.

As for HC ties, already have the linen gingham and have the orange (couldn't help myself) and brown macs on order.

How do you like them?

The gingham is very nice for s/s wear. The other two are still in transit but I loved the look of the orange especially in the line up pics, which are most probably more IRL than site.

I totally thought you were calling someone "love" and I totally read that in a British accent. biggrin.gif

Why not this route for your next suit? Just think about it, but still try Proper Suits and see how they're like.

I've been hooked up by Spoo for my RLPL suit. OTR works in some cases. It comes down to me wanting to try these on in person. I'm interested in them because I can check everything out in person and for ~$600 I don't think thats a horrible deal for MTM. It will come down to if the person measuring is knowledgeable or as JRD pointed out just a minimum wage employee. If things don't work out and they don't impress me, I'm not going to make the purchase. The deposit for the appointment is refundable. I'm just going for a SC no suit. I have ~10 suits and I rarely wear them. I'd get so much more use out of a couple nicely fitted SC's. We'll see. Like I said I'm not jumping into this. I have my appointment Thursday night for measurements and to look at fabrics and I hope to see some of their examples in person. I'm not going to have my jacket in such a tight waist so as JRD also pointed out I hope they can work with a "fuller" cut for me. I'll def. report back.

So far I'm thinking the following options: 3 roll 2, Soft shoulder, Notch Lapel/Wide lapel, Patch Pockets/patch chest pocket, Double vent, 4 functioning buttons, Half lined, no ticket pocket,

Some things I'm unsure about or leaning towards: No pick stitching,

If this appointment doesn't work out I'll still need a couple SC's so I may end up going back to the bay or Kulata has given me some links on Yoox to check out as well.

I might check HC for some ties too. I've heard nothing but good things.

Thanks to Mr. Murlquirrel I'm adding a staple to my collection. icon_gu_b_slayer[1].gif

What's the best way to wear this tie? Grey/Charcoal SC/Suit? I feel like Navy SC/Suit would be too much.

I believe Cleav wore something similar with a mid grey suit.

Wearing that with a navy jacket would be...what I did when I first came on board SF so please don't even think about it.

Isn't this somewhere in the ballpark for @jungleroller ?

Sorry Doodals, I was thinking blue tie and red dots for which I have none.

I think this Marinella ^ works with the suit as it is a different blue with still lighter blue and white detail.

The tie Jung has is more royal in colour, for me, and the red throws it in another direction...

It's funny to see my wife be so happy like a little kid over a pair of shoes that's just $40.

Then we dropped into a Neiman Marcus outlet (Last Call) and I tried on some Hickey Freeman. I am beginning to have fun just trying on different makers/style/etc.
