The only thing we have not discussed and will not discuss are politics and religion. Other than that...

Honestly? No. The weightlifting talk might fit into the general notion of advice, but it's rarely good-natured for long.

I'm pretty sure Noodles has brought up politics in this very thread...

And religion has definitely been discussed.

I missed the discussion of religion. Unless when it was when I rattled off all the reasons Quakers are awesome.

That and the time that Noodles thought his wife didn't drink because she was a Quaker and you set him straight.

Let's talk black PTBs for a minute. What do you do typically wear them with, do they need to be shell, who makes the good ones?

Alden? Would color 8 stand in for most instances you'd want black and then be more versatile otherwise?

@jcmeyer  Altho I do have a pair of black oxfords in shell I wouldn't now recommend shell for any kind of formal shoe.  And a black shoe is inherently formal.  Black box calf is sleeker.  Shell has a tendency to 'beef-roll'.

I'm not so convinced black is inherently formal, though maybe it tends to up the formality level of whatever shoe it's on. Might be getting into lounge territory there, but I feel like of all the black shoes you could buy, the PTB is the least formal, especially if it's rightly chunky/beefy. I know people wear them with jeans. Do you wear yours with brown suits or trousers? I feel like they get mentioned a fair amount but I'm having a hard time picturing any recent fits that use 'em.

I should also preface that I have no black clothing whatsoever; I wonder if you sorta need another black element in the fit to balance them out.

not wearing black shoes with biz suits is largely an SF thing.  I do wear black PTB's (in  box)  with suits.
