Thanks, this was really helpful.  Also, thanks to Clags, Archie and TM79 for their thoughts.  I'm down to 26 or 18 and will just need to think about it for a little while as they are fairly different.

That's going to be a great jacket either way.  I took the plunge myself on the KW trial jacket today and am also going to start with something tweed in green or brown.  I'll consult here when the swatches arrive.

I'm curious, wide lapels or standard?  I went with the wide lapels for a worsted suit, but I'm on the fence regarding a tweed jacket.  Particularly because the 4.25 inch lapel is pretty wide.

Haven't decided yet, but I'm leaning heavily toward the wide lapels as well.  I'm thinking:

Wide Lapels

Standard Gorge

3-roll-2

Welt breast

Patch Pockets

Standard Canvas

Partial Lining in Navy (I wish there was a burgundy option!)

Working Buttons

Limited Pick Stitching

Brown MoP buttons

Sounds very similar to the choices I'm leaning towards.  My only question is regarding limited pick stitching.  I have gone with that option for suits, but am clueless on whether it makes sense for an odd tweed jacket.

That will depend on how the trial jacket fits.  I'm inclined to go natural shoulder rather than a soft/unstructured shoulder.

I've been toying with @kulata 's suggestion that I try a completely unstructured shoulder.  My suits are all the soft shoulder option and this might be the opportunity to try this out.

Did Clags do unstructured shoulder on his KW suits?  The pics on his IG account look great.
