Good Natured Advice Thread (improving a business wardrobe) - Page 2149

I have no pocket squares! I'd like one! Make a suggestion for a versatile square that won't destroy my bank account!

Also, while I'm at it, are there any significant holes in my tie wardrobe?

I have my OneJacket- the Eidos donegal navy tweed.

My ties include:
- a Drake's navy knit,
-a Knottery burgundy grenadine grossa,
-a brown ET grenadine fina,
-an orange ET cashmere,
-a Drake's blue/orange silk/linen stripe.
-a green Massdrop x Panta (eventually).

White linen.

1. White linen

2. Needs more silk foulards (navy)

Also, you can have OneShoe and OneSock, but you cannot have OneJacket. That's like having OneToiletPaper. Barbaric. You need OneHundredJackets.

Foo recommended or not, I get more use out of my cream silk square than my white linen. White linen except for with the most businessy suits never feels right - too harsh, and only TV-foldable. Plus you can puff or point, or both, with the silk.

Otherwise, I look for simple, non-geometric patterns with plenty of clean space and different colored edges/border. I find those to be the easiest to get a good range of expressions from. YMMV.

Check out Exquisite Trimmings to see what they have at the moment.

I am a realist. I accept the traditions from other cultures which help me maintain my extreme masculinity.

Only on SF would there be a pagelong discussion about the parameters in which it is acceptable to hold a bag, including qualifications made for fringe scenarios like backpacks and momentary coat removal, all alongside photo evidence.

I have a OneJacket. It is not quite navy. And one day I will have five of them.

I still want a nearly-navy OneJacket. I got a SuSu Havana but it's a good deal lighter than navy, plus it's hopsack and quarter-lined so it's really only S/S.

I like the idea of a donegal navy tweed but wouldn't want it to be super heavy. Does anyone use birdseye for OJs?

Dang it! I am working with a Belgium company and they use Dutch. At first, I thought I'd be fine handling their work with my background in the German language (Deutsch). Boy was I wrong. Dutch and Deutsch is nothing alike!

I never even considered holding someone's bag an issue. I'll hold Erica's bag if she's tired, because... well, I care about her comfort. I can't recall one single time when someone's questioned my manliness (lolz). I think that not being considerate of your SO, because of an overwhelming fear of appearing feminine, is a pretty un-manly trait.

Otoh, she almost never carries a regular handbag.

When my wife gets tired I carry her around. Hella manly.
