Can't be. In those instances, you just think you're wearing socks. But according to the Sprout Axiom such socks do not exist.
Here are my thoughts on sock colors. There are four sock colors, five if you count black for funerals.
Wear 1 with everything, 2 and 3 with separates, and 4 with beige suits in summer.
I think you just need 1 pair each of 2-4 and then 99 pairs of type 1.
It depends on the rest of one's wardrobe, surely. If one wears mostly suits, then the tradition of matching the socks to the trousers makes a lot of sense for well-known reasons.
If one has a charcoal suit, for example, then black socks should be on that list. Similarly if one has more than one shade of gray suit then socks in those shades would be good.
In my experience not all suits are easy to find socks for: mid or light blue being reasonably common suit colors, for example, which don't have equally common socks colors available.
I would and do wear dark navy socks with all such suits. Don't own light blue suits.
I do have charcoal socks for sock emergencies.
Navy OneSock is also fairly widespread in continental Europe.
I should clarify that I'm talking about Bresciani's midnight navy sock, which isn't very blue.
You guys are about to feast your eyes on some real steam punk shit. Could improve steampunkness with more unnecessary accessories and a bowtie/cravat, but I didn't want too be too gross.
edit nvm too dark to see anything
