Good Natured Advice Thread (improving a business wardrobe) - Page 2001

Forrest green is inherently country, never will be a city look, but it is one of my favorite colors for seasons Helden mentioned above.

I wear my forest green items all year round. I agree though that it is inherently a countrified colour - though i vehemently reject the reasoning behind it.

Reading back through Manton's thread on Personal "rules" vs. "Real" rules, brought a question or two to mind  so I'm seeking a little GNA.

1.  Does/would anyone wear a solid black grenadine garza grossa with an odd jacket?

2.  If so, would #8 shell be acceptable for footwear?

I think the texture of a garza grossa avoids "incongruence" problems with many odd jackets and enjoy trotting out solid navy, brown, olive, and burg grens with odd jackets but have balked at black, in part due to not having any black shoes I'd wear with an odd jacket.   I love my black gren, though, and would like to get more use out of it.

Link? Obvious searches do not strike gold.

I'll dig around in a bit. Jumping into the car at the moment. From a couple of years ago. A very interesting thread.

1. No? Are you sure? We're not all as unimaginative as you ;)

Though personally I prefer knits. And no need for black shoes:

2. True.

I have a hard time with black ties. The only use I get out of the black grenadine fina is with a grey suit. Maybe I'm just a pussy.

I don't wear mine very often either.....grey or navy suits.

Maybe you are ;)

Seriously, you can wear it with almost any colour part from grey: navy and lighter shades of blue, olive, tan, brown even (if you don't mind the silly rules)....

these aren't garza grossa, but black knit is similar if a bit more casual.

I'm sure there a plenty more examples if u google.

@EliodAnoice

I'll wear a black tie if there's some black in the SC, as in these.

Shell #8 in a PTB would be a good choice  imo

fit and color r fine imo, if more English than American. (pink, green + navy)

u didn't ask about styling, but imo the buttoing point is too high  & collar gap too wide.
