I think Carmina suede is excellent and great value for money, we concur. No surprise ol'chum biggrin.gif

Is the grain on commando sole or leather sole?

Grain is on Dainite - that one is from Gentlemens Footwear but they only have my itty-bitty size left.

I would go suede too, although I rilly rilly like that pebble-grain blucher. But if you're after the latter style, better to save extra pennies and pick up a pair of EG Dovers. They are next-level compared to the Carminas.

Question.
If there were two jackets and the only variable is that #1 has wide notch lapels and #2 has peak lapels, what different visual effects will there be?

Well, one will look like a jacket with wide notch lapels and the other will look like a jacket with peak lapels. smile.gif

More seriously, peak lapels are seen as a bit more formal and dandified. It's possible the peak lapel may make one look a tiny bit taller / slimmer.

I think professor Claghorn said the same.

A direct quote from the web on thr subject: "Peak lapels are an excellent choice for men with narrow shoulders as the peaks themselves ‘point’ outwards to each shoulder, exaggerating their width. With a tailored waist, this flatters the wearer’s torso – wider shoulders and a narrow waist are the ideal."

Noodles sells all his Formosas to buy SuSu Washingtons. No one ever notices his hips again.

Why not just hold on both and save for Dovers?

Why didn't I start with Suit Supply in the first place?!

So that's a very reasonable question, but am I accurate in seeing that they're ~$1,400? I just.... can't. It's above a threshold for me even if I did save the money.

I was only thinking of buying one of the pairs I posted and beyond that I "need" a couple of jackets more than I need shoes.

But, but... Dovers are frequently listed in Japanese magazines about the 100 items you must have!
