Hmm, was hoping for square end. @sprout2 which one were you looking at?

Weren't there / aren't there serious customer service issues with Howard Yount?

Yes. But I still buy from him. Probably spent 800$ since he stopped being an AV.

He still responds to emails too.

Fair enough. I do think the issues are worth disclosing, though. People can ultimately decide for themselves of course.

Absolutely. And if it were for something more than a 50$ tie, I'd probably bother. As is......meh.

Seriously want to ask him what was up. Terrified he'll stop responding to me if I do, though

Has anybody bought a Difou tie yet? I just received http://www.ebay.com/itm/351347979030?_trksid=p2057872.m2749.l2649&var=620472858775&ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT  in blue and I like the tie quite a bit. The fabric has a very legit feel and weight to it. The tie does have a fair bit of sheen to it but I don't know if that's a Difou issue or just the nature of cotton ties in general. I'm not especially well informed but the tie seems to be constructed well enough. At $24 it made a good impression overall. I have a midnight blue reppe in the mail from Hober that I'll be interested in seeing in comparison.

I suspect it's the poly. The tie is a cotton blend.

Never seen a shiny cotton tie.

Just an open ended question. The smooth ones are usually pointed.

Passaggio Cravatte?

Claghorn was discussing Yount. As for Yoox, absolutely. But then more people would use it and it would be harder to get great items or brands on deep discount, (perhaps). As it stands, the site and often crappy or hit/miss selection makes the thrill of success even more exciting

24 hours without a single post. Must be some kind of record for this thread.

Quick, Noodles, come back! We need some of your inspired neuroticism to get our creative juices flowing again!
