I'm so used to scrolling back to the top of the page to go back to my subscriptions that I'm still doing it even with the fixed header. But once I break the habit I see this as a good change as long as the page settles in the right place so the header doesn't cover up a post, when you click directly to a post rather than to a page.
That was a poorly written sentence that I'm too lazy to fix.
Which, annoyingly, it doesn't. The new header may offer a slight increase in usability, but I'd appreciated it more if the powers-that-be had done something about the haphazard layout and dated design. I much prefer the cleaner look of the mobile version, though that one unfortunately still lacks some of the functionality.
