There are lots of options, outside of jeans, for casual wear. Take a browse through MC casual and SW&D WAYWT threads for ideas. Identify people or looks with which you resonant.
Next, determine how often you will be wearing such outfits. Will you replace your jeans/polo/sneakers outfits completely, or are you just trying to get some casual looks together for going out to bars, friend's houses, etc? The typical advice is dark wash, straight or slim/straight jeans (try Uniqlo, perhaps) some casual shoes/boots...suede chukkas perhaps (Loake Kempton are a favorite of NOBD, but I like unlined chukkas with jeans a lot too - AE has some that are very reasonably priced - Gobi, i think).
I suspect you will be dumping the boot cut jeans whichever direction you go, though. Even for trips to the mall with your wife.
The problem with going over to the casual waywrn is that there are people who dress like ninjas or astronauts. I am kind of in awe or shock that people dress that way and wonder what the response is on the streets. I am really not gonna go there for references. I do see on MC waywrn some "casual" stuff that I like.
Yes, the boot cuts gotta go. There are so many things that I did wrong before coming here. Good thing I got married after joining SF, who knows what kind of mistake I would've made.
For now, I think replacing jeans with ROTA trousers seem reasonable. I don't mind wearing a shirt and rolling up the sleeves. ROTA, Epaulet, etc.
