It makes him look slimmer for sure.

That's because you knew what to look for. I wasn't following the conversation at all and I sat there for 10 minutes trying to find what was different. Also, shut up.

Only thing I moved is the button placement (and therefore, longer lapels).  That's it

I know, and did it very well at that.

To go back to the navy jacket chat: the SuitSupply Hudson (suit) and Havana (odd) arrived today (both 38R).

I'm pretty happy with the fit of both, and am trying to decide which to keep. I like the texture of the Havana but the Hudson will be more useful year-round. On the other hand, the Hudson trousers are pretty tight... I don't see them getting much wear.

Pics inside (Click to show)

^ Havana

^ Havana

^ Hudson (weird trouser shape mostly due to rough cuffing and wool/cotton fabric... I think)

^ Hudson (more trouser terribleness)

^ Hudson as separate

Speaking for the jackets alone, I would keep the Hudson. The Havana is too short.

I agree. Too short or not, it give you the opposite of a "V shape", while the Hudson does not. I wish they offered the Hudson in normal colored 100% wool. Suit Supply really does a bad job of offering the basics across fits.

Thank you. Tell that to millions of Japanese men. I am getting tired of seeing exposed ass.

It's a problem that goes beyond national borders, unfortunately. It mostly afflicts the young although no age group is immune.

I was thinking the same (a jacket is my main goal). Doesn't seem to be a huge difference in absolute terms but the effect is noticeable. Even the Hudson is verging on too short, but I can live with it.

SuitSupply's skinny-ass trousers though... WHY?

Thanks again for the advice, folks.

Edit: Actually, someone mentioned that the Hudson's buttoning point is lower than the Havana. I don't notice much difference, unless it's 0.5" or so. Guess I need to refine my eye a little.

I think the Hudson is just about right length wise. I would guess by looking at them that the difference in length is 3/4 to 1 full inch, which is quite a lot.

Saw someone the other day whose jacket ended at his waistband. That's the shortest I've ever seen it, and it looked ridiculous.
