We don't have the company itself, but he have Noodles, not that we call the Noodles, we call them "fideos". The other ones are the "tallarines" but I don't know the difference between them. Tallarines are mostly used in asian food, I guess.

JRD, please RE-subscribe to this thread. With me shutting up and more in observation mode, things will die down if that hasn't occurred already. When I come back from the wedding and I lose this gosh darn #*$(@*&(!&@ fat belly, I might change my user ID to Noodles. I'll go check out them ties. There are only really specifics that I am looking for and as the Great Stitches has said, buy carefully and only when it is something you love (paraphrased).

Jungleroller, I wish I had a wife like yours buy you stuff at SS.

AJL's Isaia jacket looks so darn close to the one that I returned...

"@AJL, if you are going to get a couple of suits, a solid navy and a solid grey are the best choices. I'd get something that you can wear for most of the year. A navy blazer that errs on the side of F/W but you can still wear for most of the year should be a top priority, as should a nice tweed odd jacket for F/W. After that, I'd consider finding something summer appropriate that you like (could be a linen odd jacket, could be seersucker). A summer weight navy (or slightly lighter than navy) blazer would also be good as would one additional F/W odd jacket. I think that 3 F/W odd jackets and 2 summer odd jackets is a decent collection.

If you consider a seersucker odd jacket, I'd get the full suit as you can wear them as separates and the trousers can work with a summer weight navy blazer."

Also solid advice, thank you. Never pictured myself in seersucker, but the navy or lighter blue linen is definitely a look I could see myself getting into.

Things that I would have bought if I was an idiot, but I didn't. But I still need to go visit SS.

There's a great highend tie clearout in the B&S right now. @NewYorkIslander

Lots of staple ties from SF family: Vanda, Panta, also a couple of Drakes

GET ON IT. That means you, Noodles, Luv2BReformed, and Jungalo

I see a couple ties in that listing I wouldn't mind owning, myself. I'll give a courtesy 24 hours for those more in need, ha.

Appreciate it TM. What does everyone think of these 2 for my needs? Are there any I'm greatly overlooking for my needs?

I like the Drake's. I don't dislike the other one but it's clearly more of a fall/winter tie so depending on what you've got and what you still need plus your budget I may continue to focus on items that come closer to being able to be worn year round.

Good shirt choices, Noodles.

All excellent pick ups Noodles. And I suspect that you'll have more use for a navy pindot in a few years. Good ties generally don't go anywhere. Which is good, since that middle tie, most excellent, is pretty similar to that shibumi (or Conrad Wu?) you got a few weeks back (olive green with flowers). I like the Vanda more though. As your tie wardrobe grows, some redundancy (as long as it is between quality items) isn't a bad thing. So yeah, all in all, excellent pick ups.

L2, at that price I'd just get a grenadine from Sam Hober. Dark brown, large (grossa or prometeo) weave.

First off, looks like my head is screwed on correctly now. I think I was running around this thread like a chicken with its head chopped off.

I realize that the Vanda and Conrad Wu are somewhat similar. The wine seemed like a good pick to me.

All three are excellent. The wine the best. I think pulling back slightly has given you some excellent perspective concerning shirts and ties. 5 for 5 and none were even close to a miss.

Also, that Zegna fits you better on the shoulders than most of the other jackets I've seen you in. Good call on not purchasing it due to the pattern, but that particular fit is a good one for you. 38 or 40?
