also have you made any decisions on shoes? time to firm up some purchases?

So... Chukkas.. I've never seen the beauty in them, but Skoak has a nice coffee suede Chukka by EG for only $600.....

Persuade me why chukkas are versatile/useful?

I've cooled on chukkas. Definitely don't like the chiseled ones. They look very affected to me, don't know why

The chunkier Alden barrie last ones are alright

I love chukkas, especially the chiseled ones. I mainly wear them through the winter months.

There is no dress code in my office, so generally wear flannel trousers, a shirt and v-neck sweater with either my Tetbury calf chukkas or Kent Wang suede chukkas.

I may invest in some chelseas to spell them off for next winter.

IMHO, chukkas are THE casual CM shoes. Look great with almost any SC outfit. A pair of mid brown chukkas are almost as versatile as say a navy SC, a pair of mid grey flannel trousers or a chocolate brown grenadine.

Love my chukkas.  As EFV said, mid-brown calf are incredibly versatile (I especially love that you can change the thickness of your socks as the weather gets colder in a way that feels incongruous to me with bluchers/derbies).  Can't wait to get my hands on some snuff/coffee suede ones.

I have a few pairs of mid-grey in different shades and fabrics. I wasn't crazy about any of them with it. I realize that sounds crazy. And I only just started drinking.

Mr Six, cream trousers or white trousers surely for a summery look. The right blue might work too (devil.gif ).

Cream and white should work. The cream trousers I have didn't look great. I'm not a white trousers guy. Navy trousers look OK but ... navy trousers.

I think the "northern lights" looks is awful most of the time and I can't really see that jacket looking too good with mid-grey. Great looking jacket, though.

It's not even a northern lights thing. The effect of the coat overall should go with everything that's been mentioned. The versions of those colored trousers that I possess aren't working for me. It's odd. Perhaps I'll post photos because I'm curious about others' reactions.

The tie that I ordered (then canceled) says it is woven. My assumption is that this tie will have a woven feel to it. Close to Grenadines. It will have texture and not a fine smooth feel to it.

I suspect that the POW tie that you have and the Vanda are pretty much the same weave.

That's true, but I can't seem to find a loafer that offers all day, walk around a bit, comfort.
