Hey GNAT crew, I have an interview next Thursday for a fairly prestigious scholarship and would like to wear one of my two new Hober ties. I got both the bitter chocolate and the navy grenadine. Would these be a little too flashy for a business formal interview? I was planning on pairing them with a navy suit and blue shirt. I can post a fit pic later if you all think that would help.

I think navy grenadine is about the furthest thing from flashy and is fine for any interview. I'd prefer the navy to bitter chocolate for an interview. And wear a white shirt if you can.

But grenedine is something that people do not see on a regular basis and could draw one's attention.

Denizens of Tie-land, does anyone have experience with schappe twill ties from Conrad Wu?  Curious how they compare to ancient madder in real life.  I'm thinking of this one:

As much as I love green ties, I'm holding off on that one until I see a real life picture b/c I'm not a fan of ancient madder.

Is there a SF discount code for Conrad Wu? I have a few ties in my cart, including the green mentioned above.

I'm not sure anyone remembers, but I had a suede Valstarino that got ruined by my girlfriends hair care products leaking on the jacket in her suitcase before I even got a chance to wear it.

I bought a leather one to replace it, which I've worn maybe 15 times while waiting for the weather to get nicer to wear it again. So, today the sun is shining and I grab my jacket from the closet, lo and behold, I see this. No idea how it happened:

I suppose tears like this can't be fixed? I guess that's a sign that valstarinos just aren't meant to be for me.

I remember....that really sucks. Those things aren't cheap either. I'd have it sewn up and wear it....it'll have "character".
