In fairness, wearing flannel in the summer isn't THAT much crazier than having Formosa suits sit in your closet untouched for a month or so or wearing the same beater suit everyday.

Gosh, that beater suit was worth $400-$500 on BS. Now it's just worthless.

I am glad you guys pushed me around to finally do something about my suits that were collecting dust.

I am also glad that I lost a good amount of weight that I can wear all my suits now. However, I am going to be eating like a pig during my vacation.

If you eat like a pig, hit the gym everyday. You don't drink so you have that going for you when it comes to keeping weight off.

Luckily, Seoul and other cities are walking cities. I will be walking a lot. Eat like a pig and walk like a peg.

I think if you view the outfit holistically, it doesn't. Now if you concentrate on an individual element, and consider that element the most important element of an outfit, and then consider everything else secondary, and that element happens to be the one existing at that bare minimum (and to say Meermin/Allen Edmonds are below the bare minimum would border on ridiculous), then yes. But that's because you're looking at the pieces before you're looking at the whole.

I take the point that AE or Loake really represent the dividing line between acceptable and don't give a damn footwear. When I see someone wearing AE I know that they're at least paying attention. That said I think that there are certain style deficiencies - easy example is the 360 degree welt - that materially detract from the overall appearance of an outfit.

Some people have to. Especially in larger cities where public transportation is relied on, walking and spending time outside is a necessity.

Exactly. Especially if you want to have any form of a social life during the work week.

10 bucks says he won't be offline during the whole vacation.

Don't worry - he'll be back with a few suits that his wife makes him buy and the cycle will continue.
