It seems a bit bright as blues go, so I'm passing. Still, for your consideration...

Yeah - I tend to balk at S/S blue shades of ties since I wear mostly light blue dress shirts and I just don't like that blue on blue look at all. I'm not even sure what shirt would go best with it - not white, unless maybe it's a linen shirt, since most white dress shirts would seem too formal.

I guess certain bengal striped shirts?

Tan summer wool or linen suit, white linen or very light pink shirt.

Yup, that's why I'm getting the "cornflower" tie from Frui--I think it will look great with pink and lavender summer shirts.

Be sure and post up when you get it.

I would not know how to wear that tie.

Where do y'all shop at for ties? I think I just go around in circles with Sam Hober, Vanda, and NMWA. Maybe I should go to NM.

I think pink dress shirts, even lighter shades of it, aren't the greatest of choices for most Caucasian complexions.

Panta is another solid option. Exquisite Trimmings yet another. You can also get some pretty nice ties from Spoo's weekly eBay auctions, and you can also keep checking the B&S forum for good deals.

Add to that list Henry Carter and Shibumi and I think you'd have most of the places I buy ties from.  I've also been really happy with my Eidos tie in terms of its hand and construction--they don't get talked about as much as their tailored clothing, outerwear, and shirts, but don't dismiss these if you see one you like.

You mean light complexions. Complexion is not a race specific thing. I also disagree. Light pinks are a staple in the south during summer.

I keep forgetting to look at Henry Carter's website. Solid option.

We also have to add Cappelli. I am probably the only person in this forum who's had a bad experience with him.

I do like Henry Carter ties a lot but I unfortunately have placed two orders where shipping came from Australia (1 from him, 1 via B&S) and both of them took 4 weeks to reach my doorstep. Add shipping costs to that and I have decided it may take quite a unique item for me to order from so far away again.

I don't blame the Aussies for that, though - seems like it left their country in a reasonable amount of time. But stuff from there hits Los Angeles first and then needs to travel across the entire country to Boston, so maybe that sorting facility totally blows ...

Yes - light complexions. Typically Caucasian, but not limited to. We can agree to disagree on the rest.

4 weeks?

My orders from Sam Hober and Vanda sometimes have taken that long. I really didn't mind it. But the usual wait time is 2 wks.

NMWA orders get to me usually the next day. :slayer:

Well, I should say that pinks certainly do not look good on SOME lighter complexions. I would limit it to only the lightest though. I believe many light skinned people can potentially look great in pinks.

I actually look terrible even in a light pink 'cus of...my complexion.

And I look terrible in charcoal gray suits! :nest:
