Good Natured Advice Thread (improving a business wardrobe) - Page 1323

Like I said before, I see a lot of Jos.A.Banks at my company. From interns to the top man. They may have different priorities. Some people drive a nice car while sacrificing a bit on where they live. Some people live in nice houses while driving Hondas and Toyotas. I wonder who would actually stop and laugh at you for wearing a Jos.A.Banks suit. I've seen execs telling their secretaries to go out and get some suits from Jos.A.Banks when they have nothing before a big meeting.

Just using earbuds doesn't cause ear damage. If you're listening too loudly, that will cause damage. Get your hearing tested.

I had dinner with one of the richest guys i know the other day (he's retired from running a big business). He was amazed that one would pay more than £500 for a suit

Interesting. My last firm's CEO is a millionaire and lives in a rich neighborhood with US Senators in DC. He has yachts, nice vintage cars, nice mansions. Despite all that, he would tell his sec. to go to Jos.A.Banks if he needed suits on the fly. I am darn sure he had nice stuff in his closet.

I am not saying, Jos.A.Banks is good for filling in the gaps in your rotation but people (rich or poor) do buy from there for different reasons. Some due to lack of time and some due to lack of care about clothes.

I will take a walk to a Jos.A.Banks store and see how they compare to other makers.
