Stock up on gifts for your wife. Longchamp handbags or something.

I don't mean give your gift to her, I mean use your gift on future gifts for her that you would otherwise have paid for with cash...cash you can now spend on yourself on something you want from somewhere you like (calling Greg). Net expense is the same.

@The Noodles

Sell your giftcard for cash: https://www.giftcards.com/sell-gift-cards

Looks like you can get 417 for a 500 Saks card. Not bad

I just might do what JRD suggested.

@noodles , last time that happened to me, I gave it to my wife and told her I was going to go buy something for myself out of separate funds.  Got no argument from her on that.

Another thought is that I've used the gift cards on a few occasions to buy something, returned it and gotten the value of the gift card on my credit card so that I could spend it as I saw fit.  Not sure if Saks is the same way as other retailers on this.

Someone recently said he doesn't understand the point of black bluchers. I think they're perfectly at home in gray-based odd-jacket fits or even gray suits in cozier fabrics like flannel.

Fudge...Walmart gift card would have been way better.

Fair points. I think I'd do black monks before bluchers / derbys, but that's just me. I feel like one would get more use out of a similar shoe is brown, so it may be a bit lower on the priority list.

Same, when I am lucky enough to have fabric for this.
