Good Natured Advice Thread (improving a business wardrobe) - Page 955

I like the green tie for the chalkstripe suit. unbel's suggestion of seeing how they would look in a B&W photo can be a useful tool, but if the colors are sufficiently distinguishable, then having similar values isn't necessarily a deal-breaker. I think @mktitsworth did some actual color analysis a couple of years ago when we were arguing with Foo about something similar.

It was good to meet David, Greg, and Kyle. You should give these nice guys your money.

Looks fantastic, SB! Now, buy SC's!

From about 6 feet.

Kind of turns into a textured brown with flecks.

I have a similar colour pair, but with a houndstooth pattern. Always wondered what to wear with them as well.

They're so nice. I love tweed pants.

Just yup... . I have pairinga pair of dark grey birdseye tweed pants that i have trouble with too.

Beautiful pents RTC. I dunno - green or olive windowpane jacket? Grey wool tie? Light blue shirt? Chocolate suede shoes?

Have a pair of pents slightly darker than that. Tried with green, didn't quite work as I ended up looking like a tree. Seems to work with the mid-grey and dark blue (not navy) SCs I have, the former with more country spectrum shirts (large country tattersalls) and ties, the latter with more italian CBD stuff (blues and browns).

Navy or grey textured jackets work with brown trousers.

A navy sportcoat with some texture and some heft would be absolutely perfect with those pants.

Possibly something like this jacket:

Sugarbutch - the Eidos looked just perfect on you. I got a little jealous there...

Good luck with the run

This is how I usually wear mine.

I guess I have that light blue silk wool mix jacket, but outside of that I don't have any textured greys or blues. I have a black and white herringbone that resolves to grey from a few feet away, but I don't think that would work at all.

I like it with grey and wear it a lot. Not sure I like darker brown with navy though, I prefer lighter shades of brown with navy but maybe I just haven't come across a good example.

Can we talk about charcoal jackets (Charcoal is the new rage)? I really want to buy one and in my mind it works best with brown, tan and olive pants but passable with light grey. Any more suggestions or do you want to talk me out it? Patterned grey pants?

Neither of those will work. The blue is too teal, you need a navy SC for those pants.

Not feeling than SC. But yoox has turrble pics so idk. But I can say that I personally have minimal interest in owning a charcoal SC. Heck, I think I just dont love charcoal. Even a charcoal suit is low on my list, Id much prefer gray. Ymmv obvi.
