This here is a 6 shot expresso. Close my door and work until this project of mine is done.

And I aint sipping this like a little girl, I just chugged it.

Take or leave this as you see fit, and certainly it is not meant and should not be construed as medical advice. Simply that in the spirit of this thread's meanderings: if you're drinking that every day - and you're almost certainly drinking it at least semi-regularly in order to not to feel actively ill from that much caffeine in a single bolus - your daily intake is uncomfortably high. Depending on the exact coffee, 6 espressos is likely close to 500mg of caffeine. Taken regularly, that's enough to increase your baseline level of agitation/anxiety and make you more prone to panic attacks, as well as put you at risk of a number of other, much rarer. issues.

Also, at that regular level, caffeine's unlikely to be helping somone perform. Instead it's more likely simply counter-acting the negative impacts of its absence due to the tolerance built up to it. In fact, if the average person took 500mg caffeine in one go, their performance would actually deteriorate (caffeine's effect is U-shaped and 500mg is way to the right of the curve; you're an economist, right? Think of it a caffeine Laffer curve...). 200mg is probably closer to the sweet-spot for the average person, if used to boost performance occasionally.

Thanks for looking out. When I have something major going on at work, that's the only time I take do this idiotic thing. I certainly do not do this on a regular basis but when I need to crank out something, I just take the gulp and pick apart a project. During last year's audit time, I was doing 12 shots total (in 2 sets) everyday for about a month. COMPLETE IDIOT. I think I am going to take this as a good warning and STOP this. I do get some kind of a caffeine high and just am able to zoom into what I am doing, crunching #s.

Also, I drink at least 4 to 6 diet cokes. Can you just tell me Aspertame is bad for me so that I would stop drinking?

I...don't have and never had a panic attack but I guess it would be wise to stop this kind of practice before I do have one.

Thank you again!:fonz:

-btw, I am a CPA...not an economist.

It's one of the worst legal things you can put into your body.

Indeed Noodles. I guess caffeine does nothing to you, like in my case. One time when I knew nothing about supplements for the gym I was taking pills that have caffeine on it, around 150mg and nothing. The I tried one with Synephrine and still got nothing only dehydration when one day I forgot to consume enough water, I thought I was going to die hahaha seriously I got an incredible fever that when I arrived home I couldn't even go upstairs to my room of the pain in my legs.

Then I tried ephedrine, which I think is ilegal, that thing puts you in an active mode for real. So for you rlong projects you can try synephrine or ephedrine.

I'm just kidding, I would never take that shit again nor recommend it.

Instead, something like these:

Both have patch pockets, are of a slightly rougher weave, and one has brighter buttons--all features distinguishing these as odd jackets and not orphans.

where are these from?

also, i dont think the patch pockets is such a major requirement. both my navy SCs are flap and neither are orphans, nor do they look like they are. imho.

Ephedrine was one of the first modern PED's in baseball and led to the death of at least one player I can remember without having to look up anything.

So, toss that one on the "avoid" list ... ha

yeah...caffeine really doesn't do anything. I am actually dozing off right now.

I was gonna stop by GNC today and pick up some testastrone(?) supplements.

I started working out yesterday to really get back to form and I think I needs it.

I knew Betel was a gym rat. Always seemed like you had big guns.

I think the term gym rat does not apply to me. :plain: I think I don't fit in the definition

I would not take testosterone. What you will need is food. :D

Us Orientals need extra testosterone to compensate for...nvm...

I don't know, Betel, you always looked like you were either flexing ur biceps or something. LOL

thanks. would not kop either. one is herringbone and the other not 100% wool. both are cool but neither fills that staple blazer need imo. those would be complimentary imo.

Gym culture really does push pharmacological/biochemical knowledge quite far, and has its own risk/benefit attitude to supplements that's quite different from what would be adopted by a typical MD. Sports medicine is its own discipline as well. But most gym supplementation isn't supervised by a sports medicine specialist; it's more of an amateur thing. Sometimes you meet people who can be astonishingly knowledgeable about the theoretical framework of what they're advising. Sometimes they're very dangerous quacks.

Personally, I wouldn't touch what can sometimes get offered to you in a gym. Mind you, in my case, that includes weights, so... :D

To bring this back on topic, sort of, I find clothes a much easier way of crafting a reasonable-looking body!
