Thanks Monkeyface.

I think a grey windowpane can work for an SC. However, a navy windowpane looks funny. Stitchy and clags will agree with me on that one.

Just realize that it won't be very versatile. That's the knock against non-tweed grey SCs. Tends to work best with lighter gray pants

I agree with this. I have the misfortune of owning a gray windowpane sportcoat. It's going to consignment as soon as I have time. I think any gray sc that isn't tweed just looks too close to suiting to work, box check or no (a check which, incidentally, is more of a suiting pattern IIRC).

I vehemently disagree about navy windowpane, though. In a lighter navy, with a bold/thicker check, it makes a nice, informal change of pace from a blazer. Still, not something to be purchased at the beginning stages of one's wardrobe, if at all.

Married 25 years today, delighted and feel very blessed!

Duchess made me blush with a number of gifts including this, very pleased.

Congratulations to you and Her Grace, and your lovely "flower garden". Bless you all, @Cleav.

Thank you gentlemen, humbled indeed.

We're all off out to dinner now to celebrate with a few friends. The "Flower garden" will be the star of the show, they always are!

Something of a party/shindig on Saturday so all is good nod[1].gif

:fonz: to Mr. and Mrs. Cleav!

I hope it goes for another 25 years!

Like what he said below, what a great example!

My life (just 6 months into marriage) has changed for the better. Heck, quitting alcohol alone and staying sober alone is enough. I am glad to have met someone who is having a positive impact on my life (but a negative impact on my bank account:lol:. I hope to get there like Cleav.

Here's hoping mate, I'd take another 25 from here if it were guaranteed! I hope you do too, from what I know of you I'm sure it'll happen.

Congratulations, indeed, @Cleav and what a wonderful and thoughtful gift. 'Tis my own anniversary at the weekend, but only 7 for me. Fantastic 7, mind you.
