Re: Boston

Room: I'd recommend looking on AirBnb over the big box hotel chains. If you can pay about $250-325/night you can get a very nice place in a very nice location. I'd recommend the Back Bay area and would recommend putting the Uber and Hailo apps on your phone if you want to zip around the city easily. The public transportation isn't too bad but depending on where you want to visit you may need to use multiple trains which can get annoying.

Sights: If you want to do touristy stuff, have a drink at Top of the Hub which is one of those overrated panoramic restaurants that a lot of cities have now. Skip the food. You will get quite a nice view of the city up there. You could also visit the Museum of Fine Arts while here if you're into that sort of thing although I suspect DC may have a nicer one.

Food:

Neptune Oyster has the best lobster roll in the city. That's in the North End (Little Italy)
Island Creek Oyster Bar is also amazing for all things seafood but you'll want to make a reservation on Open Table ASAP because it fills up fast.
Eastern Standard is directly next door and makes excellent craft cocktails. The food is also very goof.
Chinatown has several good Pho places - using Yelp will help identify the better ones
I'd say Modern Pastry over Mike's Pastry - both are on Hanover St in the North End and close to each other.
If you want to visit the best steakhouse in Boston, that would be Grill 23.
If you want jaw dropping sushi that also comes at a jaw dropping price, that would be O Ya.

I won't bombard you with too much more info. But if you want to toss out specific things you are looking for I can make some recommendations.

This. It is more than just sushi. Make reservation now. TM and I will provide menu suggestions. Just have an appetizer somewhere else before going and order a bowel of sushi rice on the side - it will help keep your appetite and bill in check.

Have lunch at Sams. Restaurant above Loius Boston. Best lunch view in the city looking back at the harbor. You can go downstairs afterwards and try on some Kiton suits to nail down your size then scan B&S for good deals.

Back in college, my favorite hole in the wall Thai place in Boston was Rod Dee...heard it burned down in a fire though.

RTC mentioned The Liberty. If you can, stay there, @The Noodles. It's cool.

Apparently the conference offers 50% off discount at the venue, which is at the Westin Boston Waterfront. So guess I will reserve a room there. Hope it is good. We will definitely head to that sushi place. But we wont pass on lobster rolls. As for drinks, both of us are non-alcoholics so we will stick to cokes. Lol. Thanks y'all for chiming in. I greatly appreciate it. Hopefully, I can take her around Boston as if I've been to Boston many times.

But will Stitchy and Murl meet up both wearing Formosa. That is the question.
