I agree... Anglo-Japanese in our case.

And he always draws himself with a bow tie now!

Kulata, definitely the brown.

I think gray is most versatile, but . . . the brown is just the nicest out of that bunch.

In other news, woke up to a 6.0 earthquake in the Bay Area. Would've preferred it at some time other than 3:00 AM, but what can you do?

I couldn't back to sleep for a couple of hours. Damn you, Mother Nature!

Morning earthquakes are the worst. Hope everything is ok.

Around here when the earthquake occur between 2 - 3 am they wake me up and can't continue sleeping. The last one was at 6am and I didn't even noticed it. It was a 6.5 Richter scale quake.

San Francisco and the East Bay are okay, it seems. Napa's looking a bit worse for the wear. It was centered there.

Wingtips, even black ones, aren't really appropriate for interview attire are they? What about plain (i.e. captoe) monkstraps and such?

I think that cap toe oxfords (black, burgundy, or dark brown) are the safest choice along with a navy or charcoal suit, but I'm curious what others thing.

I'm talking re: med school interviews here. I already have all my stuff, but someone asked me if black wingtips were okay and my gut answer was no. I feel like monks etc are fine but might come off as ostentatious and draw undue attention. I bet most people wouldn't even notice though.
I am going to strongly differ with the other responses. Black wing tips were one of the most common American shoes for most of the 20th century. They are entirely appropriate for interviews. They aren't the safest choice, which would be a black captoe. But I would rate black wing tips as safer than brown captoes, unless the brown was so dark as to register as near-black. Monk straps have always been rarer and I think would be too bold.

My sister and her husband have 22-month-old twin boys. That's certainly been their experience. The twins feed off each other in making bad decisions.

I just spent a week with them on a family vacation. When your kids are that age, your job as a parent is akin to a bomb squad technician. Snip the wrong wire, and the kids will go off. Ten minutes later, it's like nothing happened. I think my sister is looking forward to passing the "terrible twos" stage.

I love how you know everyones size. For help of course never for sniping purposes biggrin.gif

I think the brown is very nice but that grey is where it's at imo. My goal eventually is to have all three. I have a killer Navy from JRD a mid grey from Poland and I'm trying to figure out a brown at the moment. I like the Camel Colored light brown but something about them is a little bit much for me. A little too hoity toity or something.

@The Noodles, I hear ya with losing family early, lost both mine at 8 and 10. Its funny though now that I'm older how unknowingly I act like my Dad. My other Family members will say how I do things just like my old man. I'm sure your old man would be proud of ya. You see like a pretty decent guy, despite your fascination with booty .gifs. cheers.gif

Sorry for the spam but I figured someone might be interested:

There's talk of a group buy going on through the Allen Edmonds MTO thread right now for the Eagle County boots. The MTO's for these boots that came out on that thread are some of the most incredible boots I've ever seen including this navy makeup:

Sorry for the mini derail, but I figured someone here might be interested.
