Yeah, I wish that Luther's had much wider lapels. I love the fabric though.

I have a camelhair and a charcoal flannel which pretty much covers all occasions for me. The camelhair is approaching the decade mark, has seen some pretty rough wear, and probably is only good for another season or two. But then again, not really sure when's the next time I'm living anywhere cold enough to really need an overcoat.

That was an amazing book.

Also, I hate you all. There is just not enough reason to own an overcoat in Texas.

Patrick Grant's E. Tautz Nelson coat for me please.

^^

I like the first one, I am making up something similar for myself now.

I don't know abouut the second one, seems to have one button only and the lapel situation is too much for me.

Wish he would take a pic wearing the coats normally.

Do I blow a $1,000 on a navy blue/camel coat that allows me to wear it over my suit jackets?

Yes. If you wear a suit 5x per week, you need a proper overcoat that you can wear on top of your suit jacket.

Yeah, that's what i meant, XXL. You're a 42 right? I'm thinking XL would work for a 40.

Yeah, production put those there. I forget why, but I know I read a reason why they did that. They also bought him 2 coats for the show. Assholes, I could have used on of those. Seriously I want that coat so bad.

Can you make me up a dead on replica of the Belstaff Sherlock coat?

Erm, not quuuuite. Im really more like a 44, but some 42s work for me. Really depends on the maker and cut.

Speaking of coats. I fell in love with this stud by Ring Jacket at The Armoury, yesterday.

Thoughts?

I think you are buying into the picture a bit too much (although I have not seen the show or the coat). There is a lot of fabric in that coat, particularly the back. If you are tall and skinny, it fells you out nicely. If you are not tall and skinny, not sure it works as well. Its all fun and games until you are wearing a 10 pound coat.

Right. But can you make me the coat or not?

Also, the pic is just what I found quick, I have seen the whole show and fell in love with the coat there, not from the particular pic I posted. In any case, you should watch the show, it is superb.

Also, thoughts on the tan coat above? In person it slims me by about 15 pounds.

Why don't you like it Ed?
I agree w Ed on that coat. Overcoats should be DBs, the color isn't great for you, and the flapped patches look weird in this design. Also don't think the shoulders are flattering on you.
