Russell Moccasin Co. is in Wisconsin and offers made-to-measure hunting and birding boots that are surprisingly inexpensive. (No ready to wear -- you have to wait for them to make your pair.)

It's been years since I ordered from them. Anybody have more recent experiences with them?

If you don't want to wait 3 months for a pair you can check their sales list (unused returned stock) and phone the order in. Plus, some of their more popular models (i.e. the Original Chukka) they do keep in stock in widths B-E. Plus, if you order from the sales list and you don't like the shoes you can return them for a full refund, unlike the custom made's, which I think you only get store credit.

I've had a pair for a little over a year. The wait is long but the boots are outstanding and a great value. I wouldn't hesitate to order another pair.

Hiker. Only option was leather lined upper. If you're going to be anywhere wet at all then the couble vamp would be worth it.

Are you planning to wear them on your front lawn when you sneak up on dad?

I understand your reasoning, but...wait for it...I'm from south Georgia and have been hunting my entire life.

So yes, these might get worn to the stores where I kops my fashons, but they'll also get worn during next whitetail season.

Go the **** home.
