Thank you for the reply, I posted to front pictures. I think that both of them covered my rear but I have long arms?it's really hard to tell from those photos.
The 38L sleeves are too long but that's not a big deal as the sleeves can be shortened without difficulty. Does the jacket cover your rear? I can't tell.
More importantly, it's hard to tell from your pictures whether either jacket fits you properly in the shoulders and chest. You need front and back shots and you shouldn't be holding your phone to take them. Phone is tilted downwards which also messes up the perspective.
+1.The jackets look big in the shoulders and chest to me. That is, the shoulders on the suit are sticking out beyond where your shoulders actually end. It also seems too roomy in the chest and waist. While that can usually be fixed by tailoring, shoulders are much more difficult to alter and it's not usually recommended that you try.
With your measurements you probably need a 36 jacket, or possibly even a 34 jacket, and not a 38. I'm 5'10", 145 lb, 37 in chest and I typically wear a 36R jacket or occasionally a slim 38.
