Do you guys wear walnut color shoes in the winter?

Is a walnut chukka boot suitable to wear in the winter? I know the color is light, but should I really care?

Thanks!

There's nothing wrong with walnut in the winter. Depends on how you wear it. It's true that we generally wear darker and more muted colors, but if you have some accents of lighter or brighter colors, it can be fine.

On a sunny day, sure. On a rainy, snowy day, better to wear something darker to hide the muck.

This. And it would have to be one of those very bright & dry winter's days, with the rest of the outfit also including some light colours.

I don't wear light coloured shoes much at all, though, so take that into account.

what does walnut colour have to do with winter especially - an all year round colour as are all the others.

I never wear Walnut or any of my lighter coloured shoes in winter. Why? Salt stains. I stick with my blacks & browns for bad weather. Not a rule, just my preference.

I did just yesterday, with a brown flannel pinstripe suit.

It also depends if you are bold and want to create some contrast.

Lighter colored pants for summer complement tan shoes, where are darker pants for winter contrast with tan shoes.

IMO, I don't think Walnut is a light color at all. Tan and Chestnuts are...
my go to wheels during 2013 F/W season, with denim, moleskin, twill trousers, and cords...But with snow/salt on the ground, I have an old beater for that

^^^ That's darker than what I normally associate with walnut. That would certainly be a four-season shade for me. The lighter shade that comes to mind when I think of walnut is something I would wear in winter in a casual chukka, but would avoid with formal business attire.

Heck, I'd even wear tan shoes or boots in the winter with casual attire.
