I was just thinking about how rough it'd be on formal shoes to go out in tomorrow's muck.

My evenings are far less hectic in January than they are this month.

I think that's probably the best thing to do under the circumstances. A meet up in January will give people a lot more time to plan accordingly.

Okay, this is really last minute, but schedules are difficult to work around this time of year. The Washington, DC SF Holiday Party will take place on Tuesday, December 10, in the renowned Off The Record bar in the Hay-Adams Hotel (800 16th Street NW). Due to popular demand, attire is black tie (or similarly festive) recommended. We will meet at 7 PM, which will give those coming from work sufficient time to change. Hope to see you there!

Fack, I have exams this week. I aint imbibing outside my house until I wrap up on the 12th. Next time (I hope).

Just caught up with the thread. Good thing it was postponed. I hope I can make the revised date.

I just found this thread. January is much better but I doubt I can make it until Elvis' birthday or later. I have two inventories to manage during the first week of January.

OTOH, if the Ravens make the playoffs, I'm out. Work will be insane based on last year's experience.

The weather is actually clearing up nicely. Are you all still postponing?

It's too late to unpostpone at this point. In any event, the attendance pre-storm wasn't looking that great. I think we'll get better numbers in January when we're not competing with other holiday parties.

No worries. The Jan date also gives me time to rope in more stylefarmers from the SWD side :slayer:

Have you held this party other years? Sounds like a blast!

First one, to my knowledge. My co-op has the same issue of timing with its holiday party. The co-op president prefers (and so do I) a holiday party in December, but it usually doesn't work out because of busy schedules, so we end up holding it in January (or later). We should get a good turnout with sufficient notice.
