kettlebells work the whole body, as well as giving both a strength and cardio workout. 10 pound dumbells are pretty much worthless for anything but wrist workouts, as are bands. what you need to do is build up the large muscles in your body, to create a situation where you are burning more calories. building your biceps or triceps isn't going to help you. if you don't want to go to a gym and use the squat rack, then a kettlebell is the next best thing.

start out with one 12 kilo, then when you can handle it, get a 16 kilo, then a 20. if you do 10 minutes with a 20 kilo kettlebell every day, and then walk 50 minutes, you will be thin in a year.

Put down the fork. Cut out drinks with high fructose corn syrup. Run on the track - leave that treadmill shit alone. Remember to work out that core.

Please stop with the useless logical advice. We all know now that being fat is caused by some deep childhood emotional bruise and, until that is healed, no amount of caloric restriction or exercise could possibly work.

I'm pulling for you.

Sadly, it's not as simple as breaking a sweat a few times a week and putting down the potato chips (yet, those are necessary steps too).

1. I am 350 pounds and it's pretty much all in the stomach. I have got to flatten this thing, but I was told that any ab exercises is only going to make it bigger or build muscle around the fat. I was told that I need to burn the fat and shrink my stomach through cardio - before trying to do ab exercises. Would this be correct for those here that know?

2. Money is a factor, so I am not going to a gym - but I have an elliptical, Two 10 pound dumbells, some rubber resistance equipment and leg weights. I am going to get an exercise ball - but what else should I get or is this OK for the initial period of weight loss?

Thanks a million.
So a month or so has gone by since The Reinvigoration Of Interest, how goes it?

Can't say for Hey Man, but I've been going to the gym about twice a week. Hoping to bump it up to four...
