Agreed. But I think that what it is inartfully trying to get at is that being frugal in and of itself will not make you wealthy. You need to earn more to get wealthy and then be frugal to stay wealthy and not simply operate on a cash flow basis.

Abuja, Nigeria (CNN) -- Details emerged Wednesday of an apparent Boko Haram attack on a Nigerian village in which at least 150 people died, the latest in a series of attacks and abductions of schoolgirls attributed to the group.

Militants dressed in military uniforms, backed by armored personnel carriers and shouting "God is great" attacked Gamboru Ngala Monday afternoon, firing rocket-propelled grenades and tossing improvised bombs into a crowded outdoor marketplace, witnesses told CNN Wednesday.

They then set fire to buildings where people had tried to take shelter from the violence, the witnesses said.

The fighters also attacked the police station during the 12-hour assault, initially facing stiff resistance. They eventually used explosives to blow the roof off the building, witnesses said. Fourteen police officers were found dead inside, they said.

The final death toll could be closer to 300, Nigerian Sen. Ahmed Zanna told CNN.

Lois Lerner, former IRS administrator in charge of approving non-profits, was held in contempt of Congress today along a party line vote. Just Republican grandstanding and witch hunting a poor, overworked civil servant?

People For the American Way's Right Wing Watch is dedicated to monitoring and reporting on the activities of right-wing political organizations, in order to expose the agenda of the extreme Right. Our researchers monitor dozens of broadcasts, emails and websites, and use their expertise on right-wing movements to analyze and distill that information for the general public.

We hope that by shedding light on the activities of right-wing organizations, we can expose the risks that their extreme and intolerant agendas present to our country. We do not endorse the views of groups that we report on.

This just has to be full of good stuff.

Did anyone else catch Switzerland voted down a minimum wage? Arguably the highest standard of living in the world, has no minimum wage, and about 77% of folks voted down creating what would have been the world's highest minimum.

There's this urge to romanticize other countries, but the US has the highest standard of living by far, at least if you go by household income (after taxes, adjusted for cost of living, etc.)

The US is an "other country" to me.

Also, just read something that says the Canadian middle class has overtaken the US as the world's wealthiest.

Insufficient sample size in Canada. There are only 12 people, some Eskimos and seals in that country.

Yeah, I read the same thing. By "middle class" they meant the bottom 50% of households. US is still much higher than Canada (and every other country) for the top 50% and for the overall average.
