A CNN contributor backs minimum income idea. I approve.

Best Buy salespeople also approve.

Best Buy is staffed almost exclusively by high school and college students. I once had an employee tell me her job was hard during the checkout process.

Edit: Also, while I think the minimum income idea is certainly better than our current system, the author's defense of it is not great.

Yeah, and those kids would presumably be slinging many more iPhones and extended warranties if everyone received a guaranteed income.

Although, with the higher commission combined with the higher guaranteed income they might not feel the need to go to college (which not everyone needs, IMO) therefore they'd have less debt so they could spend more of their own money on big screen TV's and Nibs thus pumping up the economy and solving world peace. So yeah, I guess I see their point.

Agreed the defense mainly sucks but I'll take what I can get.

Fuck the poor. They're not poor cause there's no jobs they're poor because they get high all day. Fuck that shit.

It’s not just athletes — college screws everyone

What do you mean the players aren't getting compensated? They get a free education at world class institutions. Sure it sucks, he couldn't do pre-med and play football, but there's no such thing as a free lunch.

Also, maybe my experience is different, but I thought there were too many gen ed requirements. I went to engineering school, but I was still forced to take a bunch of these useless humanities classes. My friends who did CS or a hard science had more humanities and language classes than I did.

I knew I wanted to be a lawyer since I was 8 and read the Perry Mason books (much better than the tv series, btw) but still had to take shit like math to get a degree to go to law school.

Yeah, bitch. I can change oil at Jiffy Lube as a fall back. I'm not going to be an engineer no matter how many times you pound Pythagoram's theorem into my head. A2+B2=C2. How is this possibly useful to me?

Oh look, I mowed the lawn today without a single mathematical calculation.

Fuck, I paid my electric bill online without having to check the biology of human anatomy even once. How?

Omg, I brushed my teeth without knowing the exact chemical composition of my Colgate toothpaste! What should I do, should I call an Obamacare Ambulance?

Wait, Ishmael was the name of a person in the bible and it's a literary reference? How would I ever survive without this knowledge?

Woah, slow the fuck down. I think therefore I am? I thought it was I drink therefore I am?
