Was briefly toying with trying to fashion a clever private crapper/assignation masturbation joke but decided I'd rather focus on my drinking.

Guys, TSA can't handle the lines because you won't just buy PreCheck.  Just buy it.

Yeah, we've been seeing a bunch of articles and discussion about this shit. Not confined to Chicago of course (seems to be a national TSA problem at busy airports), but with 2 major airports, it is a constant topic.

Lot of people are hypothesizing that since the TSA is currently in the process of asking for money...they are intentionally understaffing themselves so they can say "see! we need more money!". Hope that backfires on them and somebody says "See! You guys suck! Let's get rid of you!".

Sounds like airlines were taking over managing the lines at one point. Instead of just running a first-come-first-served line, they were sending people through screening based on what flights they were on (and even holding flights that were missing too many passengers).

They have managed to fuck people coming and going--saw some guy post on reddit that he had been stuck on the tarmac for 45 minutes. Plane landed, but couldn't get into the gate because the plane that was supposed to leave was still missing 40 passengers.

Expedited screening is such a joke. They're basically acknowledging that those security measures are meaningless, but you gotta pay that fee to get around them. Just more security theater.

Plus all those dangerous water bottles and nail clippers are just sitting in these trash bins next to a line of hundreds.

Scarlet Johansen cast as an anime character; CNN prints this ridiculous editorial:

Note that the character is actually supposed to be a robot, and, like most anime characters, is racially ambiguous for maximum marketability.

Yeah, nothing says "race neutral" like the name Motoko Kusanagi .

And you clearly have not watched the show, she's not a robot and she is very clearly a Japanese product. The (slight) racial ambiguity has nothing to do with marketability and everything to do with the tradition of Manga.

Now that you mention it, anime's descent from traditional Japanese art is unmistakeable.

You're a nitwit. And you don't know anything about anime.

No, you've got me convinced. When I look at those pictures I posted and see three white women, it's because I have a caucasian-normative worldview.
