Seriously, if you run down the usual arguments, SJWs get indignant over "ignorance" and "it's going to the bathroom; there's nothing sexual about it!" so stop being a bigot and get over yourself. Ask them what the goal is here...you might have to prompt them as this type of thinking is usually beyond them...but tease out the goal is normalization so trans people can go about their business undisturbed. Ask them what the most efficient, effective, and fair way to normalize people that look like the opposite gender in a public bathroom is. The answer is obviously mandating unisex bathrooms.

You'll suddenly get the same objections from the SJW against unisex bathrooms as others give for not welcoming the concept random people can just decide what gender's bathroom they feel like using today (don't forget we're dealing with "gender fluid" people who could feel like a different gender one dump to the next.)

Doesn't California already have laws stating bathrooms are unisex (might be just LA or whatever)? It is a non-issue, just let trans people go where they want and cultural norms will keep those ultra-marginal men's right activists or whatever, wanting to prove a point by going in the women bathroom from doing so. You know full well the current war is not about bathrooms anyway, Breitbart readers just want to show they're anti-lgbt and are using the "protect my daughter" or "my rights blabla!" meme as a rallying call. You know full well this isn't problematic in practice..

Oh and aren't gender-fluid people two accounts on the internet? Why are we even discussing this?

Conservatives have just pretty much lost the anti-gay fight and are looking for more marginal people to fight, this won't go well for them.

Having just spent an annoying few minutes in the workplace shitter, I propose a new way of allocating bathrooms:
One for those of us who can do our business without loudly muttering, hyperventilating, and grunting like a steroid-pumped women's tennis player finishing a 5-set match, and one for those creepos who can't.

I agree with much of this particularly the thoughts this is all mired in prejudiced against non-hetero-normative folks. However, I have had multiple conversations with SJW women on the topic, the type posting all the FB memes in support of trans-folk, and only one of them said she'd not have a problem taking a dump knowing a random man was in the stall next to her. So while I totally agree the major push involves anti-LGBTQ+ sentiment I think it's equally clear SJWs suddenly feel a bit awkward when confronted with sharing their bathroom space. It's the height of slacktivism IMO.

I also think it's disingenuous not to acknowledge society has programmed all of us with certain things and one of those is using the bathroom. Hell, I've known guys that refuse to use a public crapper as they can't deal with pinching a loaf with anyone else around. To ascribe all mixed feelings to prejudice, based on my conversations with multiple female SJWs on the topic, means we'd have to say a majority of folks that support this in FB land would not actually IRL. Again, my solution of 100% unisex bathrooms is the quickest way to normalize all this. Afraid your woman cannot go to the can without getting attacked by a rabid trans-man? Now you can accompany her to the toilet and back. Heck, you could even go in the stall and wipe her if you're into that!

My point is that the way it is currently setup using current cultural norms, that is men in one and women in another with a little exception for those marginal cases like trans, does work and is pretty much a non-issue. We can call them unisex if you want but, as you know, people will, in 99,9% of the cases, continue to go in gendered bathrooms but those trans kids will get to to the bathroom of their trans-sex or whatever these people now call it. The only issue is basically conservatives wanting to win and choosing a weak adversary, smething that will backfire by showing they've gone so far down the cultural crapper they can't even win against those.

TBH I don't know ANY pure "SJW" and pretty much think it is a net phenomenon. Sure I can piss people off at meals when I call 2015 "year of the trans" and argue for a greater focus on universalist far-left issues instead of those communautarian ones but the people disagreeing arren't caricatures.

Just because something is a net phenomena doesn't mean it will not have IRL impact.

what else could bathroom assignation be than a purely political question? i think this calls for civil disobedience.

Sure but I think that it is basically a lot less prevalent than your beloved MSM would have us think (I include Fox and all in the MSM, obviously). Of course since it is a US-centric phenomenon I'm also far away from the epicenter...

In other words I think a lot of pundits merely enjoy the ease with which they can fight the windmill of a SJW otherkin.
