You're a lawyer.  That's a given.

My favorite story my wife had from law school was when she took finance for attorneys.

Gots to know how to calculate that contingency fee!

Where Bernie deserves kudos is he's raising taxes on everyone including the poor. I think that's important, for more than one reason, and it takes balls to propose it.

Except he isn't claiming that.  He talks only about raising it on the rich, and when confronted he goes "well, of course the upper middle class will see a small increase too"

I liked when my coworker was trying to go over some numbers in excel with a lawyer (partner at a big name firm, probably 32 years old).

He couldn't figure out how the guy had done any of the calculations. Turned out he had punched the numbers into a calculator and then transcribed each result back into the excel sheet...

Of course, given that there's no Bernie Ticket or Bernie Coattails or whatever, whatever he says has even less chance of becoming law if he wins than most candidate proposals.

Either "small increase" = 50%, or "rich" =>100k/year.

Heh.

Hell, I'd be happy just being able to deduct 100% of my student loan interest like I can with my mortgage (or a sweet, sweet flat tax with no deductions).

I'm going to break $20k in medical expenses for 2016, before insurance of course. Thanks for subsidizing me folks!

I'm not hugely anti-Bernie, but I do like to ask Bernie fans if they understand that almost none of these proposals could happen. They always come back with something about The Revolution changing voting dynamics or whatever. Even if the Democrats take Congress, they're going to run into the same problem Obama did. There are too many Democrats in fairly conservative districts who aren't going to vote for radical changes, because it will cost them their seat. The ACA was watered down a lot under such concerns, and they still took a bath over it.

Imagine what would happen after nationalizing health care and raising people's taxes by 50%. It'd be a bloodbath at the district level. Bernie doesn't have the credit with the Democratic party to get Congressmen to sacrifice themselves like that.

Even cringe worthy little dweebs have rights...

I think she's a future cop. I like the way she's getting physical with him and then demands he not touch her.

Why not? She would do it if the shoe were on the other foot.

Ah, that makes it OK, then.

Well i mean she's doing this in public. There's no reasonable expectation of privacy. And she's obviously the worst kind of bully. I mean right now a certain campaign manager is being prosecuted for much less. So yeah, dox her, who cares?
