I'm all for butter but that just doesn't make any sense.
Not sure about adding it to coffe but the idea is that the body actually craves/needs a certain amount of fat. Give it the fat it needs and you won't actually crave food as much.
For what its worth my brother was the biggest loser at his crossfit gym on a diet that called for shitloads of bacon, meat, and eggs. Same basic idea.
The butter thing might be taken from yak butter tea.
