Thanks. I think it looks all right. Hard to wear in a real life social setting, though.
The print reminds me of the "iridescent" medium blue fabric with pink fibres in it from a few seasons ago – I have it in a Chauncey shirt, not sure how prevalent it was. Neither that nor this batik look like a plain, flat fabric – a white broadcloth, for instance – and both really stand out when the lighting is just so. To your point, though, the print really is that subtle in real life. But it's also not something that anyone would ever mistake for a flat black poplin.
the fw14 lookbook pics only show these long coats which are not chesterfields
but I also found this recent chesterfield pic, which looks to be a quilted wool fabric

+1 I would love to get my hands on that chesterfield. I swear I could get by for the rest of my life on 3 EG coats. It would be a field jacket or bal coat for warm weather and can handle SS showers, field parka for harsh winters, and a chesterfield or duffle as a wool coat that I could dress up.
Add me too - going to make my first listing in the for sale section of a brand new navy tropical wool cinch pant w/ tags and labels - size 34
PM me if anyone is interested
What's up EG folk, I am in search of the EG X Vans slip on in size 7.5-8. I do not live in NYC and sadly, I missed out on the Nepenthes release. I will take navy blue but prefer black or white. If anyone is looking to get rid of a pair or knows someone who is, I will absolutely buy them. Thanks.
Nepenthes still has some good stuff at 30-50% off. I saw a couple of expedition jackets in small/medium there and at Steven Alan annex (probably cheaper from Steven Alan with the free shipping). Nepenthes still has a lot of EG floral shirts and a small and large batik print jacket. If you're looking for anything but the ripstop Bedfords, I would given Nepenthes a call because they still have a lot left.
