I just got back from Paris where I collected my first pair of bespoke shoes. Some of you may remember my Corthay thread some month back of when I had my measure taken. The result you see below. My girlfriend and I spent a couple of hours at the shop with Pierre Corthay talking about his craft. He really is an extraordinary (though very French) guy. I will write a full account tomorrow and post some more pictures I am sure some would like to see.
Some of you might be interested to hear that I will offer two pairs of Corthay shoes on eBay. One of them is a pair of graphite Arcas I bought too small (size 11 US) and hence never wore. The other one I managed to source in Paris, amazingly is an unworn pair of Corthay bespoke classic black box-calf Oxfords aproximatly size 9 US. If anyone is interested in either pair, let me know or check my auctions. For lovers of fine shoe rarities I also received a mint, bespoke pair of Henry Maxwell tassel loafers in dark brown and an identical bespoke pair in medium brown by John Lobb Paris.
