regarding the "what is discord" discussion, and regarding how we dress in SWD in general:

I see in streetwear and denim a lot of outfit concepts being references to a cultural identity (like skater, biker, hobo, farmer--those four are kind of all I do for casual wear now that I think about it.) CM suiting is one possible touchpoint. (It was mentioned upthread that CM has two camps--what are those specifically?) People here don't necessarily see that CM-ish fit as discordant because they just see "CM plus CM minus collar." The discord is subtle, maybe too subtle.

Anyway, people put a twist on these cultural touchpoints, and this is how you end up with the "postapocalyptic swag farmer" thing going on w/ someone like Spope. Now, discord can be thought of in terms of dressing in a way that identifies with clashing cultures. Say, you could do CM hobo (I saw a guy in japan and I have not been the same since.)

And then the trick is to make them cohere somehow, like Regis's biker-at-the-beach thing, which has the MMM connection and nonleather materials to keep it from being totally skronky.

Parker's fit is hard to categorize, but then, I'm rarely able to pin Parker down with my touchpoints theory when he's not trying to be discordant, so...

 my dude...was thinking of making my fit shirtless in your honor

still slightly torn though, MC top with SWD bottom or vice versa

Was going to wear open :smarmy:

My simple contribution : Beachwear 5Zip

I think you'd win the contest if you wore the neoprene 5-zip IN the water - it is just a neoprene jacket, right? I'd wear that scuba diving!!

Man I actually though about this but I love the thing too much. If I win this you guys really threw it in

I'm pretty sure I've seen that exact same outfit in Jingumae...

More seriously, this really does do what the challenge set down, and it somehow also captures something you often see in successful Japanese street fashion that seems almost impossible to replicate when you think about it... good discordant stuff.
