Personally I use scarves against cold. If its cold and I'm gonna wear a scarf it might as well be a nice one but I'd never wear a scarf just for te sake of wearing a scarf. That doesn't mean others can't tho. I just think scarves as an accessory look effeminate but thats just my personal opinion. (Actually, I think almost all accessories other than a PS look effeminate.) I also would't wear swimms over my wellies but if others want to thats fine.
The difference (for me) between a scarf and a PS or boutonnière is that the former originally was intended to serve a functional purpose and the latter two were always intended to be accessories.

Agreed,

and GDL, it just looks too much, like it was intended just for the sake of over doing it. minus the scarf and sunglasses. it's a good fit.:fonz:

have you been smoking crack?

if i had been, i would be wearing sunglasses inside, and maybe a scarf over a turtleneck. and maybe even feel pretentious enough to think that i or my buddies have a monopoly on style- symptoms of a crack obsession.

in a forum, different tastes and opinions get discussed. i can dislike a fit as much as anyone else.

El Bert and GDL, followed by Sugarbutch, and NOBD for me. GDL and El Bert were pretty much going in opposite directions: GDL all in with everything and El Bert for rugged simplicity, and I have to say that El Bert shaded it for me. You really can't do a heavyweight knit turtleneck better than that. Sugarbutch and NOBD were the best casual CM IMHO.

I like T1's outfit but, to paraphrase a certain disgraced pro-cyclist, 'it's not about the turtleneck'. On the other hand, I liked leftofthedial's turtleneck (and top half) a lot, but the trouser / shoe combination just didn't work at all for me. Other honorable mentions for AJV ( but I liked the jacket more than the turtleneck) and Casey, who is starting to hit the target more and more consistently - just shows what you can learn on this forum if you stick at it.

Overall, this was a lot better than I was fearing (not being a huge fan of turtlenecks). We should do more CM / SWD crossover challenges.

el Bert, AJV and Ian Erickson for me. I voted for several others too, as there were quite a few more than decent entries. But those were my top 3.
