Neo Nouveau: Luxury Leather Goods by Andrew Diba - Official Affiliate Thread - Page 2

Jacket measurements, customization options, model measurements, and color options would be super helpful. Deposit info and ETA are also critical. It would likely cut down on the tide of emails that you are about to become drowned in.

The jackets look great, btw.

Thanks, Andrew. What about customizing things like the size of the pocket flaps on the jacket? Also, it looks like in the photos that the collar is worn more open than some A-1s that I've seen. Is that just the styling of the photo or is the collar made so that it tends to roll out like that instead of standing up more straight?

Pocket flaps are fairly straightforward. I don't think there would be any problem accommodating something like that. smile.gif It would be a simple adjustment.

As for the collar, the jacket is unlined lambsuede-- it's very soft, so the lack of structure causes the front to lay more flat rather than stick up. The suede on the back of the collar is stitched over the ribbed section, so that part stands up a bit as you can see in some photos. It is a spring/summer jacket however, and is quite lightweight, so it's part of the way it's designed. I hope to do a heavier, leather-lined version with input from the community in the future, depending on how these ones do. In fact, I kind of want community involvement in every future jacket design. satisfied.gif

Thanks! As you can see in my above album on the alligator briefcase, I am obsessed with the 'process'. Whoever orders the first jacket is going to have me personally photograph and document it being made.

Colour options: Essentially anything, and it doesn't even need to be suede. I can totally accommodate standard lambskin.
I will post some colour options soon along with the measurements.

In terms of customization, there are stock sizes (XS-XL). Sleeve length and body length (and pocket size) are the most easily changed from any stock size and are no problem to do. Same with the lower arm, etc. Anything else, just ask and I'll make it happen.

The selection of trim colours is fairly limited...I get all my trim made for me by a company here in Canada, and the minimums are fairly high...so no hot pink shog[1].gif
So black, dark red, grey, and maybe a few shades of brown. If in doubt: ask, and I will try and make it happen!

I order directly from the tannery in France and I visit the factory regularly and help out best I can. Every jacket has its leather tanned-to-order, so the wait time is a bit longer (8 weeks), but you get that lovely new-leather-smell.

Just a quick post on this tread, the greenish grey stringray card case picture farther up is mine. The next picture of the golden brown kangaroo interior with brown cordovan pockets is the inside of the same piece so Andrew really is good to his word of whatever the client wants!

I was going for the look of a Hardley Green or California Sage Green Aston Martin with a nice saddle leather interior and it came out very much as I was hoping for.

Andrew's workmanship is really quite wonderful and the design back and forth was easy, value adding and timely. total time was fast as was shipping.

I would highly recommend and am certainly thinking of next pieces!

Cheers, Rob. I appreciate the recommendation!

I posted an update yesterday on facebook. Photos will be posted towards the end of the week! I'm currently in the process of making the wallet icon_gu_b_slayer[1].gif , so I want that to be done and photographed before I move ahead with anything.

Hello everyone!

I've been a (rather quiet) member of the forum for over 6 years now, and I'm excited to now be an affiliate here as well!

I chose to become an affiliate for a few reasons. I absolutely love quality, and while fabrics, tailoring, and shoes have a huge presence on the forum, I feel like high quality leather goods are very much lacking and under-represented.

What I hope to bring to this area of the forum is my experience. Having started from scratch, I've learned hard lessons about craftsmanship, service, and the needs of the customer. I made regular deliveries to a few retailers in the past, as well as making belts for a popular retailer's 'house brand', I understand all the different levels of 'handmade craftsmanship', what is and what isn't, how to spot poor workmanship, and a number of other relevant topics. I also hope to bring a unique approach where quality is never weighed against a bottom line. Ultimately, in an industry rife with buzzwords and marketing, I want quality to not only speak for itself, but I also want to be able to help consumers decipher its language.

While most of my work is bespoke or custom, I do have a small standard range of belts, cardholders, and wallets, available in a wide range of leathers from classics to exotics. Options like thread colour and edge colour are customizable at no additional charge, and if it's not in stock, I will find a way to get it! smile.gif

Additionally, I’m happy to be launching a range of jackets. The first offering is a suede A-1, and any future additions to the line-up are going to follow suggestions and requests from the community. The team I'm working with on these jackets has been in the industry for over 40 years and still personally oversee the production of each piece, so I'm confident the quality is up to the same standard I hold my own work.
These jackets are going to have standardized sizing (XS to XL), but with the addition of customizability in terms of sleeve length, body length, and more if needed.

All items include free shipping.

Great to see Craftsmen giving it a shot and love the work you're doing. Keep on fighting the good fight and wishing you every success. Maybe I should become an affiliate too?

Jacket measurements for the A-1 are up! I've left out waist measurements, as the ribbing at the waist prevents me from getting an accurate measurement (see photo...)
Standard sizing from XXS to XL. Sleeve and body length can easily be changed, and any other details like pocket size, please just send an email to info@neonouveau.ca or PM me and I will accommodate it for you personally.

Fit: The fit on this jacket is fairly slim, while still having the blousy feel of a spring jacket. It is a modern fit with higher armholes, having a snug fit in the arms and shoulders, with nice drape throughout the body without being baggy.

For reference, I am 5'9 140lbs and I wear a small in these jackets and a medium in Wings & Horns.
The jacket model pictured above is also wearing a small, and he is roughly 5'10 150lbs.

Measurements:
Because this is an unlined lambskin jacket, I'm posting flat pattern measurements. Despite what I want, there is always going to be some small variation due to the stretch of the material. This chart should give you a very good idea on sizing nonetheless. As you all know, shoulder measurements are key, and are the first measurement you should compare to an existing garment that you fits you correctly.

Centre back sleeve length = From center back neck to shoulder point, pivot, and follow top of sleeve line to bottom of sleeve (including the cuff)
edge of sleeve, including cuff.

Colours
Almost any colour can be done! Flip through the pages courtesy of the tannery here as well as the link to the seasonal colours.
The jackets pictured are in dark red (#831 from the above link) and black.

The only real limiting factor is ribbing colour on the cuffs, waist, and collar. I have the dark red and black ribbing shown in the above photos, as well as navy and dark brown on the way. Any other colours you would like, just ask!

Buttons
Gorgeous large mother-of-pearl buttons. I currently have stocked in a bone/cream colour as well as a dark gunmetal (pictured in above photos and on site). The cream colour is my personal favourite and goes very well with almost everything. If you want something else like wooden buttons or different colours, just ask!

To Order: Just send an email to info@neonouveau.ca or PM me and let me know:
1) What size you want
2) (If applicable) Adjustments you want (sleeve length, body length)
3) What body, ribbing, and button colours combination you have in mind

I hope to get the first round of orders placed some time in the next few weeks.

All skins are tanned to order, for that freshly tanned leather smell. Total time from order to receipt would be <8 weeks.

Price: $790 including shipping!

Thanks Tim, I appreciate it! Being able to converse with the person who made the product you're buying is extremely valuable, and is something I think all craftsman like me and you hope to provide.
